PSAT Scores Are In! Now What?

The October PSAT scores are finally in! You can check your results on CollegeBoard.org.

You’re going to see three scores: Evidence-based Reading and Writing, Math, and the sum of those two for your overall score. These subjects are scored from 160 to 760 rather than the SAT scoring of 200 to 800. This is because on the PSAT you’re given a little more time to answer fewer questions as well leaving some of the hardest ones out.

The PSAT scores are a healthy baseline to measure your progress from where you began to where you will finish. For our juniors, this is your testing year and you will want to finish by the end of this year. If you haven’t tested yet, make March your first so you have May and June to make the most out of your superscore. You don’t want this getting in the way of your summer college application process, so it’s important to start now.

For sophomores, re-visit my video on the SAT timeline and how it will change for you this year. After this year, freshmen will be taking a brand new test that next year’s PSAT will align with.
