The SAT Testing Timeline

Today we are discussing how the SAT coming in March 2024 will change the testing timeline for today’s sophomores.

Generally speaking, junior year is testing year. You have all school year to take the SAT two to three times to maximize your superscore. But because the SAT will change in March of junior year for students of the class of 2025, you should either plan to finish the old exam in December (2023) or wait until the new exam in March (2024).

You’re better off starting with the old test with the curriculum you know best and know works now. So, this means starting as soon as the spring of sophomore year to take your first SAT in June. This way you can begin your second SAT in August or October, or a third in November or December, if needed.
