Maximizing Your SAT & ACT Superscore

Today, we are discussing the Superscore. About 90% of colleges will Superscore your SAT and, if you took it more than once, got your best-evidence reading and writing on one day and your best math on another day, these colleges will put together your best and count that as your official score.

Even if you never got that high on a single day, they will give you the benefit of the doubt that you did your best. Students do have to send the entire day’s score and not just that one subject, but because most colleges use score choice you can send scores on the days you want. If you didn’t do as well on another day’s subject, you don’t have to send those scores.

For the ACT historically fewer colleges have accepted that Superscore, but that’s changed in the last few years. In the 21’-22’ school year, the ACT started sending an official Superscore report and now about 70% of colleges will Superscore the ACT.

When applying to colleges most, or all, of your schools will Superscore the SAT and ACT. You will only have to pay one of those two companies to send your scores and it will be the one you did your best on.
