What To Know About PSAT Week

It’s PSAT Week! Most high schools will have their 10th and 11th graders take the PSAT during school on the week of Wednesday, October 12th. However, some high schools may add a handful of freshmen and some schools will have their test on Saturday, October 15th.

The SAT is going to change in March of 2024, so this week will be the last administration of the current PSAT.  Next year, in October 2023, the PSAT will change to align with the new upcoming SAT. For juniors, there won’t be a difference so if you’re taking the PSAT now you’re going to take the SAT and ideally finish by the end of junior year.

For this year’s sophomores, this is your only chance to take the current PSAT and use it as a springboard for taking the SAT as early as the spring of sophomore year or the summer going into junior year. This way you can be finished by that December of that year and not have to deal with the new SAT.

Scores will be released on December 5th or 6th depending on what state you live in.
