Why Go to College in High School?

There are college opportunities for high school students that can increase their chances of getting into your top choice college. And, it’s possible you’d graduate earlier and save some money.

One option is a summer program, which most colleges do. These summer enrichment programs are made for high school students to experience campus life and explore academic interests. Also to pique their intellectual interest and learn more about that specific college.

Another option is enrolling in classes at your local county college. This can be an extracurricular activity in the evenings, or as part of dual enrollment with early release. This means your student goes to school for the first half of the day and then goes to the county college for the remainder of the day.

Colleges are looking for students who can handle the academic rigors of college life, and the student who already has is likely to do it again.
