Visiting Colleges During COVID

We are nearing the decision day for most colleges, and some students are still struggling with, “What if I haven’t had a chance to visit some of the colleges I’m still weighing?” Although visiting colleges during Covid may seem impossible, there are alternative options available!

Let me explain a couple things: Yes, it’s true that there may not be in-person regular tours of most colleges right now. But in many cases there are still virtual visits you can go on, and you can still drive to the college; you can still ride around the campus and read through the website while you’re physically in the space to get a really good idea of what it’s like to be there on campus, in person, and in most cases you can also get out of the car, walk around, and really get a feel.

You can even pop your head into the admissions office and see if they have some documentation, some kind of brochures or paperwork you can look over while you do that walk. Maybe a self-guided tour is appropriate, where they have specific landmarks for you to check out and get a really good idea of the kind of college you’re looking at. Because even though things aren’t normal right now, there are still things you can do, and you should get to them right now.
