Today we're talking about what changes are coming to the PSAT. This year, high schools…
The Best Day to Take the SAT
Today I’m answering the question: what’s the best day to take the SAT? Is it the December SAT? Is it the June SAT? Which one’s easiest? Or, because the SAT is curved and not based on how many questions you answer right but how you do compared to everyone else taking the test in the nation that day, what day are all the dummies taking the test so that you can beat them?
The bad news is there is no such date, and that’s because the SAT is a dynamic test, meaning the questions you have are different than the questions the student next to you has, and the student behind you, and the student in front of you—to prevent cheating. But the questions you’re answering are standardized enough where enough students are answering those questions across America that day to still curve the test effectively.
Ultimately, the best day to take the SAT is when you are prepared, and you can devote a good four to eight weeks leading into that test to really give it your all and get ready for it, understanding that you can take the SAT two times, three times, even more if you absolutely, positively need to—to get your best super score and put your best foot forward to colleges.
So don’t worry about trying to game the system—just worry about doing the work and getting your best score. And if you have questions, call us at 732-556-8220.
