Preparing for Success: Tips and Strategies for ACT Prep in NJ

The SAT and ACT have always been recognized as important tools to gauge a student’s level of college preparedness. Scores from the new digital SAT and the paper-and-pencil ACT are accepted by schools nationwide, so it is important to prep for them in NJ.

There is some content that crosses over, but make no mistake, they are different in many ways. The best way to determine if a student will do better on one or the other is for that student to prep for and take both tests. This takes guessing out of the equation. Solution Prep in NJ offers a program for SAT prep as well as a supplemental program called ACT Boost.

Our SAT prep program consists of eight 2.5 hour sessions and our ACT Boost is an additional four 2.5 hour sessions. This allows the student to learn the content and strategies for the digital SAT and then switch gears and work on ACT-specific lessons while building on the content that is shared by both tests.

Once a student has completed test prep and has taken one test of both the SAT and ACT, it should be evident which test format the student prefers. Once that has been decided, the student can focus on the specific test that will yield a maximized score.
