Which Students Get a College Admissions Coach?

Today I want to answer the following question: what kind of students get college admissions coaches?

Most people assume they’re just for high-achieving students competing for admission into top-tier colleges. While yes, that’s one kind of student who could benefit from a college admissions coach capable of polishing things like their activities, their essays, and their applications to make sure all the great things about them shine in a way that college admissions officers are looking to see, there are several others to consider.

A second type of student that benefits from a college admissions coach is a student with an IEP or else who struggles with executive function. If a student is getting additional support in school, it will help to get additional support with the college admissions journey as well. These students should be considering colleges that can provide continuing support through that leg of their education as well.

A third kind of student college admissions coaches can help is the “procrastinator”: the type of student who tends to put things off until the last minute. After all, applying for college is not a last-minute project. Smart and talented students who otherwise struggle with deadlines can benefit from the regular appointments and accountability of somebody who’s not their parent to help guide them through this project.

The fourth kind of student that a college admissions coach can really help—you’re not going to believe this, but it’s students who’ve never applied to college before. Because if students have never done something before, why would we assume they can do it all alone, right? They get a coach for sports, they have a teacher in school. Shouldn’t they have someone helping them with this important project as well?

So, there are lots of different kinds of students who a college admissions coach can help. If you need help, reach out to us at 732-556-8220 or via email through Questions@SolutionPrep.com. We are here to help.
