Think You Have the Grades & Scores for Top Colleges?

Grades and scores are the two biggest criteria top colleges use to determine which students are eligible for their college.

A recent study by the CollegeBoard says that in 1998, 39% of high school students graduated with an A-average, but by 2021, that number had shot up to 55% of students graduating with an A-average.

The problem is that everybody with an A-average thinks they belong at a top college, and while that volume of A-average students has shot up, the volume of seats at top colleges has not. At the same time, colleges turn away students with perfect scores and perfect grades all the time because they’re missing that something else.

Grades and scores are the starting line to get into top choice colleges. So, what does it come down to? It comes down to essays. That is how they tell you apart from the other qualified students. And they estimate 70% of students applying to Ivy League schools are eligible based on their grades and scores, and those colleges still accept fewer than 10% of applicants.

So get writing, demonstrate your interest, show your intellectual curiosity, show them your passion. That is how you’re going to stand out and get into these colleges that are assigning more essays than ever before. And if you need help, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 732-556-8220.
