The Best Calculator for the SAT & ACT
Today I want to tell you about the best calculator to use for the SAT and the ACT.
Both tests will tell you right in the instructions that a calculator is permitted, but not required. And for the ACT, that’s true. I’ve taken the test without a calculator to check, and I was able to get a 36 out of 36. But, you should still bring a calculator because it will save you time and save you energy and stress.
For the SAT, it is a filthy lie. You definitely need a calculator for some of those harder questions. There’s a non-calculator section, and then the calculator section, where only a few questions really require one.
The best calculator to use for the test is really whichever one you’re most comfortable with. You can use any simple four-function calculator straight from the Dollar Store. You can use any scientific calculator, and you can use most graphing calculators—although you don’t need something that heavy-duty to be able to solve the questions on the SAT and the ACT.
So, do not go out and buy yourself something expensive that you will not need. Just use what you’re used to. If you have more questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 732-556-8220. We are here to help.
