Overview: Solution Prep is awarding two (2) $1000 scholarships: one to a Solution Prep student and one to a Solution Prep parent. But just for submitting a qualifying application, we’ll give you $50, so everyone is a winner, no matter what.
We’ve loved working with our students and their parents, and we’d love to hear from you about your experience working with us! To apply for this scholarship, make a 5-7 minute video that answers some or all of the prompts on this webpage.
Submitting: Email a video file as an attachment or available to download, sent to Office[at]SolutionPrep.com no later than 11:59pm on July 1, 2022.
To be eligible, follow these video production guidelines:
Framing: Have the camera in landscape/wide mode and stationary, about eye level, with your shoulders and whole head in view. Look off camera, slightly to your right of the lens.
Setting: Something neat and neutral. it doesn’t have to be a white wall. It can be in a kitchen or living room. But sit at least a few feet away from the wall to create depth.
Lighting: Natural is best. Shoot inside, facing a window in the daytime, without harsh sunlight on your face. Avoid backlight.
Audio: Closer to the camera sounds better. Eliminate background noises (AC, fridge, lawnmowers, dogs, etc.). Try not to sound like you’re reading a script; just be natural.
Editing: Not required. We’re happy to receive your whole video, even if that includes an off-camera voice asking questions or you answering a prompt 2-3 times until you’re satisfied with your response.
Eligibility: Student must be in the high school graduating classes of 2021 or 2022 (one submission per student). Parent or guardian must be of a Solution Prep student in the high school graduating classes of 2021 or 2022 (one parent or guardian submission per household).
More rules: One winner per household. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Solution Prep employees and their family members are ineligible for the $1,000 scholarship, but not for the $50 submission award.
Winning: One student and one parent or guardian will be selected between July 1 and August 1, 2022, by a vote of Solution Prep faculty and staff. This selection shall be recorded and a video will be made available on this webpage from no later than August 1, 2022, until September 1, 2022. The winners will be notified via email and a check made out to the winner for $1,000 will be delivered via United State Postal Service on or about August 1, for the winners to apply toward the tuition, fees, and/or books at the colleges of their or their student’s choice. On or about August 1, all qualifying entrants, whether scholarship winners or not, will also be sent a check for $50 via United State Postal Service.
Minimum: A minimum of ten (10) applications must be received by July 1, 2022, in order for the $1,000 scholarship in a student or parent category to be discharged on or about August 1, 2022. If the minimum is not reached, applicants will be combined with those submitting for the same timeframe in 2023.
Model Release: By submitting a video scholarship application, you hereby and irrevocably grant and authorize in perpetuity Solution Prep, LLC, its officers, employees, contractors and consultants the right to take, make, edit, alter copy, publish, distribute and make use of any and all photographs, video, voice recording, words, likeness, image or portion thereof through all means, whether print, broadcast, electronic, digital, etc., to be used for any legal commercial purpose including, but not limited to advertising, promotion, posting online, websites, social media or other with no additional payment or consideration of any type whatsoever.
This authorization extends to all languages, media, formats and markets now known or hereafter devised.
You understand and agree that all such materials are the property of Solution Prep, LLC, and will not be returned.
By submitting a video scholarship application, you hereby hold harmless and release Solution Prep, LLC from all liability, petitions and causes of action which you, your heirs, assigns, representatives, executors or any other persons or entities may make while acting on your behalf.
If under the age of eighteen (18), your application affirms that you have received and extend to Solution Prep, LLC, the express permission of your parent or guardian to submit this video, and that your parent or guardian agrees to all the terms above.
