How to Prep Between SATs

Today I’m talking directly to students who just took their first SAT after having completed a course, answering the question: What do you do between now and your next SAT? Everyone should plan to take the SAT at least 2 times, 3 times is also totally fine, and that’s because most colleges will Superscore your SAT taking your best math and your best reading/writing and putting them together, even if you got them on different test dates.

I don’t expect anyone to get their highest score on their first attempt. I expect everyone to try their best. I expect everyone to improve and to learn from the experience and to do it all again because progress is a process. Think about the course you just took like your preseason practices. Think about the practice tests you took as scrimmages that don’t count but help you get ready. And think about the first SAT you just took as the first game of the season. There are going to be more games. The season isn’t over, and you’re going to have to practice in between those games. Otherwise, your skills are going to atrophy.

So what do you do? Keep taking practice tests, keep working through extra practice material, and make a schedule for when you’re going to take the SAT again where you have a solid 4 weeks leading into that next test date to really focus on this as your big thing and get the work done. So make a plan, stick to it, and if you have questions, call us at 732-556-8220. We are here to help.
